7th International Meeting on Magnetotactic Bacteria - Arvena Kongress Hotel in Bayreuth, Germany - September 4 - 8, 2022
Thank you all for attending and for your contribution to a very inspiring conference!
After a series of postponements we were very happy to tie in on the tradition of biannual meetings covering all aspects of these fascinating microorganisms!
The conference aimed at convening all scientists working on these fascinating microorganisms worldwide and covered a broad range of research topics. Diversity, ecology and evolution of MTB were addressed, as well as (meta)genomic, molecular genetic and imaging approaches to study magnetotaxis and the biosynthesis, cell biology and function of magnetosome organelles. Biophysical, geophysical and biogeochemical aspects of magnetic biominerals represented another focus of the meeting. Finally, the range of topics extended also to synthetic biology and applications of MTB and magnetosomes in the fields of biotechnology and biomedicine.
